Chess halls and places to play in Sofia 26

Sofia has no chess café and no park tables on record, so a game against new opponents usually means entering an event. This page gathers everything played here, sorted by kind. The clubs come first, most of which can be met at their own cups rather than at an open evening; then the tournaments, from the monthly Cup Milenium to the student finals.

The halls close the page: the KOOP conference hall on Nikola Mushanov boulevard, used by clubs and for the national veterans’ championships of October 2026; the “Sofia” hall of the Metropolitan hotel, where the corporate league plays, and Bulgaria Mall, host of the league’s Chess Battle days; Park Hotel Moskva, home of the Sofia Spring open in 2025.
