Chess clubs in Sofia and Pernik 14

A Sofia chess club rarely advertises a room with fixed evenings; it shows up as the name on a tournament. CSKA runs its children’s cup in age groups almost every month from December to May, and its January 2026 tournament was played at the club’s address in Chekhov street in Iztok. An Pasan keeps its own premises in Rozova Dolina street and plays its blitz and its “Young Champions” days in the KOOP conference hall on Nikola Mushanov boulevard. ELIT numbers its children’s tournaments in the Ilinden complex, and Velikova co-organised the first Biz Hub Open with the Mladost district.

The NSA club is linked by its initials to an open played in the canteen of the National Sports Academy in Students’ Town, and the Sofia University players, overall champions of the 2026 student Universiade, have a rapid tournament in the university’s central hall. Slavia co-organised the Lagera Sports 2025 event, and Levski an arbiters’ course. Mladost, Ivis Plus, Bobi Fisher 2018 and Mikhail Botvinnik are named on the federation’s 2021 list of member clubs, but no dated event of their own has turned up since, so their cards stay unconfirmed. Krakra Pernishki and Minyor 2019 are the clubs of Pernik.
